help us do what we do: preserve and promote the documentary and cultural
heritage of South Carolina. Volunteer
opportunities fit into four broad categories, with several specific

Volunteer Opportunities
Are you curious about our documents? Would you like to help us protect
them for future generations? Join us behind the scenes and gain hands-on
experience flattening and refoldering documents, removing staples
and other metal objects, and measuring books for custom cases. Help
us prepare the documents for the next 100 years!
Do you appreciate good customer service? Are you outgoing and always
eager to help others? Can you manage the telephone, the computer and
the inquisitive visitor, and do so with a smile? Jump into the hub
of activity at the front desk and help us keep the lobby traffic flowing.
Are you organized? Do you like to plan and keep track of activities?
Enjoy using the computer? Come work in our offices and help us with
mailings, educational packets, word processing, phone calls and other
tasks. Find out what happens daily to keep the department running
smoothly.
Do you like to work with caterers or assist with workshop registration?
Can you help rearrange chairs, or make copies for speakers? Help us
staff our workshops, seminars and garden parties, and discover how
special our programs can be.
