Information Package Definition
An Information Package is a conceptual container holding two types of information:
- Content Information – the information to be preserved
- Preservation Description Information (PDI) – information that facilitates understanding the content over time
Two associated types of information are:
- Packaging Information
- Descriptive Information – for use in locating and retrieving preserved information
